  • Villette Festival is a cultural summer event held every three years, offering music, performances, and entertainment in the Villette Park

  • ZuKi Children’s Festival is a cheerful event for kids with games, activities, and fun, typically held in August or September

  • Räbeliechtli-Umzug (Lantern Parade) is a beloved autumn tradition where children stroll through the town carrying beautifully carved and lit turnip lanterns, usually held in early November

  • Liechtliweg is a candlelit trail along the lake during the holiday season, creating a festive winter atmosphere

  • Chomer Märt is a festive Advent market with food, music, and local vendors, held on the first Sunday of Advent

  • Cham Carnival is a traditional winter celebration held every two years, featuring parades, colourful costumes and lively music

Public Transport

Cham has an excellent transport network, with direct S-Bahn trains to Zug in six minutes, Zurich in 25 minutes, and Lucerne in 30 minutes. There is also an extensive network of regional and local buses linking Cham to the surrounding area.

Recycling & Waste Disposal

General information and the local disposal schedule can be found at zebazug.ch. The Ökihof Cham accepts a wide range of recyclables and is partially accessible during off-hours. Healthcare & Emergency Services

Emergency medical care is available around the clock at Zug Cantonal Hospital in Baar. The Andreas Clinic Cham also offers a walk-in medical permanence and emergency unit for urgent outpatient treatment.

New to Cham?


After registering with the Migration Office in Zug, no further registration is required in Cham.

To help you settle in, the municipality invites all new residents to a welcome evening. You will be greeted there and given useful information about living in Cham. You will also have the opportunity to find out about various local clubs and associations. It's a great way to make connections and feel at home in your new community!
