Local Traditions & Events

• Chamer Vereins- und Familientag is a community event held every three years in spring, where local clubs and groups present their activities

• Techamsee is a summer tech and innovation festival by the lake

• Villette Festival is a cultural summer event held every three years, offering music, performances, and entertainment in the Villette Park

• ZuKi Children’s Festival is a cheerful event for kids with games, activities, and fun, typically held in August or September

• Räbeliechtli-Umzug (Lantern Parade) is a beloved autumn tradition where children stroll through the town carrying beautifully carved and lit turnip lanterns, usually held in early November

• Liechtliweg is a candlelit trail along the lake during the holiday season, creating a festive winter atmosphere

• Chomer Märt is a festive Advent market with food, music, and local vendors, held on the first Sunday of Advent

• Cham Carnival is a traditional winter celebration held every two years, featuring parades, colourful costumes and lively music
